Currently there is a debate on whether or not global warming is
actually occurring. In this investigation, the participant will
examine average annual temperature and precipitation data to determine
whether global warming is taking place.
Outcome:
After comparing average annual temperatures and the amount of
snow cover and/or annual precipitation for three, five year periods,
participants should be able to analyze and interpret the data
for signs of a global warming trend.
The learner will:
download data from the Internet
read and interpret graphs to analyze temperature trends
read and interpret graphs to analyze precipitation
make a hypothesis about global warming
support or disprove a hypothesis with data
